Microsoft

As April comes to a close, we are excited to bring you our first iteration of our monthly series, “What’s new with the Azure Certified Device program?” At the end of every month, we will post the highlights of our recent updates and changes to our program, both on our Azure Certified Device portal and Azure Certified Device catalog.

Without further ado, read below for the latest happenings with the Azure Certified Device program. Expect more discussion posts with handy tips & tricks on how to make the most of new features in the future as well!

  • New to the portal: Operational conditions
    • Under “Hardware” in the Device details section, you can now add environmental details about your IoT device, including certifications related to environment regulations, Ingress Protection rating values, and operating temperatures.
  • New to the portal: Software configuration
    • Under “Software” in the Device details section, you can now indicate the technical level required from a user to your certified IoT device to connect to Azure.
  • Edge Secured-core badge preview launch!
    • View our previous discussion space post for more information.

These new additions to our program will enable device partners to describe their products in relevant contexts that are crucial to the IoT device selection process, including operational conditions and software-related information. The details collected in the portal will translate directly to new filters on the Azure Certified Device catalog that allow customers to use a more rigorous search experience to find and select the best IoT device for their needs.

You can expect to see new filters for these changes on the Azure Certified Device catalog in the coming months. Have questions or feedback? Or do you have a suggestion for a new filter that you would like to see in the catalog? Leave a comment below!
