Device Certification Tips & Tricks: Adding environmental details

Microsoft

One of the most highly requested features by our device partners in the past couple of months has been to add a place to describe the operational details of their device in the certification portal. For June’s Tips & Tricks edition, we dive deeper into our latest portal addition that let’s you do just that.

Environmental and operational details give the device builder the opportunity to describe the external space that a device is optimized to operate in. Whether the device is meant to operate within certain temperatures, is certified for healthcare settings, or is rated for water resistance, our new environment section under the ‘Hardware’ tab allows you to list a number of details. These fields currently include the Ingress Protection rating, operating temperatures, and certifications, with more fields yet to come.

Highlighting these features will enable customers to search on the catalog by these capabilities via filters. The information can also be found in the technical specifications section of the product description pages. As one of the most highly valued characteristics is customers’ product selections, you don’t want to skip this section!
