Looking for suggestions

We have terminal server with SAP application. All our users use this terminal server remotely.

We are currently using private cloud. In order to get reliable connection and cost optimization, planning to migrate to Azure cloud. Question is how do we avoid the similar setup we have ( accessing apps via terminal server) which are consuming RDS license, Office software for server license, SAP application license and server license.

Can we simplify this solution on Azure cloud?

Any suggestions from community?

Could be Desktop as a Service a solution for you?

Windows Virtual Desktop is worth looking into. If your users already have Office 365, you can simply switch their licences to the Microsoft 365 SKU and you'll have the licences to use Windows Virtual Desktop. All you will need to do then is to calculate your desktop requirements, I've used a product called Lakeside for this. It analyses your users desktops and then outputs how many virtual desktops you will need and what spec.

In addition to the above you then just pay for the compute resources you use in Azure.

Also if you go for the Pay and Go module as opposed to Reserved Instances, you can shutdown your power on or power off your VM's depending on demand.
