Hello there, Insiders! This week we have several items moving around, including one that has its status rolling back to Planned. Let’s jump into those details!
First up, the new! Add option to always open favorites in new tab is being added to this list as Planned! We’ll share more about this as we get updates.
Next, Allow more top sites on the New Tab Page is moving from May to June. Some of you using our Insider channels have already spotted this update, so continue to send in your thoughts and feedback around these changes as you see them in your browser. Bring the tab preview feature from Microsoft Edge legacy is moving to July, however several of you have also noticed this as it rolls out to those of you in our Canary and Dev channels.
Lastly, we’re changing the status of Provide an option to prevent auto-play of video and audio when you open a website back to Planned based on experiments we ran. We understand this is an important request from users and are working hard on digging in more. We will provide an update on this item once we have one.

The tab previews show up on hover for me, but there is still no sign of a way to have a persistent preview of all tabs as in Edge Legacy. This is needed when looking through many open tabs and when using touch. Are you planning to add this too?
Surface devices need a browser which works well with touch, which Edge Legacy was, but Chromium Edge isn't.
Ok here we go again: - Middle click mouse button on tabs bar to open a new tab. - Built-in AdBlocker - Dark Mode for PDFs reading specially if the pages are scanned.
- Move the "Force Dark Mode for Web Contents" from "Flags" to "Appearance" in Settings and let us customize the websites that we want to enable or disable it on them.
- Everything in my PC is in dark mode, even the "Force Dark Mode for Web Contents" But somehow every time I open Edge I get this white page for a few seconds that blinds me for like a minute... and every new page I open it loads in white page until the page opens.. and if the website or my connection is slow then that stupid useless white loading screen stays for longer and I have to look away until it's done loading............ Learn from "Firefox Proton" please, It's flawless!
- When everything is using dark mode and "Force Dark Mode for Web Contents" is enabled, All icons and buttons turns to dark grey which are almost not visible at all! https://imgur.com/ICpYsDC Again, Learn from "Firefox Proton"
-"Ask users if they want to close all tabs when they close a browser window" Why this isn't added yet to the stable channel ???????????????????
Stop adding useless features and fix/improve and add what really matters first.
In term of the user experience and UI design, I believe there is a need to move away from the look and feel of the Google Chrome as much as possible. For example, I really love the new look for the download and I hope , we see the same for other features like notifications.
For privacy purposes, I would like to suggest 2 features that should be added in settings that can be enabled or disabled:
1 link previews. This is important because scammers often send you links to suspicious/ scam sites that may look like a genuine link like apple.com I heard was a scammed link.
2 the ability to u shorten links. There is this great chrome extension called unshortened.link and it helps un shorten links such as tiny.url/egbowtrbiw (not a real link) because I heard that some scammers hike suspicious links behind short urls so that they do not get easily identified by the long link
Thank you for this feedback - I have a high contrast and there is no problem when charging, but not everyone wants high contrast! Just fill in the script of the dark color - to casu load!
