Windows 365 is a hot topic since its release in August. With the impact of COVID forcing team members to work remotely, the W365 solution is great for ensuring convenient and secure access to corporate data.

 

This session will be presented by Leon Zhu our Support Escalation Engineer in the APAC time zone. He will focus on the what W365 can offer, compare it with Azure Virtual Desktop and provide an end-user demo experience. He will provide insights and advice on administration of W365 as he has worked on the solution since Day-Zero. Come prepared to ask Leon about Windows 365.

  1. Can Windows 365 Business support Windows 11?
    Windows 365 business is going to support Windows 11 as well admin capabilities in the early Dec.

  1. Is there plans to make windows 365 available offline?
    No, we currently don’t have plan to make Windows 365 offline.

 

  1. Will Cloud PC support Windows Hello deployed by GPO
    We currently don’t have plan to support Windows Hello from GPO, but Windows Hello for business in Azure AD join environment is on our plan.

  1. If access to on prem is needed it has to be enterprise subscription?  And the network def. has to be done before deployment of cloud pc?
    Yes, we have to setup all Azure virtual network and on-premises network access in our tenant before we can create on-premises network connection profile and provisioning profile in Microsoft endpoint admin portal.

  1. Where is the user's profile data stored?
    Data is stored in Microsoft managed Azure subscription with  fully protected for more information we can check
    Learn more about data retention, deletion, and destruction in Microsoft 365.

 

  1. How will the costs look like in that situation? Any limitation in bandwidth? Is there a cost for running the 365 instance or is it all covered in the user's licence? e.g. Will a user using the instance daily cost any more or the same as a user using it once a month?

    All network traffic goes through the Azure virtual network used to set up on-premises network connection. Azure bandwidth pricing will apply for network usage.

    Outbound data volume limits apply.
  • 1 vCPU / 2 GB / 64 GB: includes 12 GB of outbound data per user per month.
  • 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 64 GB, 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 128 GB, 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 256 GB, 2 vCPU / 8 GB / 128 GB, 2 vCPU / 8 GB / 256 GB: includes 20 GB of outbound data per user per month.
  • 4 vCPU / 16 GB / 128 GB, 4 vCPU / 16 GB / 256 GB, 4 vCPU / 16 GB / 512 GB: includes 40 GB of outbound data per user per month.
  • 8 vCPU / 32 GB / 128 GB, 8 vCPU / 32 GB / 256 GB, 8 vCPU / 32 GB / 512 GB: includes 70 GB of outbound data per user per month.

    Typical outbound data activities include saving a file from the Cloud PC to an external location and data transfer outside of Microsoft cloud services. The outbound data levels included with Windows 365 Business are intended to cover these typical user activities. Beyond these levels, Microsoft may restrict bandwidth and outbound data volume on a case-by-case basis to protect quality of service for all Windows 365 users and customers.

  1. Are there plans to support hybrid Cloud PC without vNet
    In this Nov, we announce that Windows 365 Enterprise will support Azure AD join environment without vNet shortly.

  1. Can Microsoft help with POC deployments for our end-use scenarios - who would i engage with
    We check with your Customer Success Account Manager for help.
    Meanwhile, Microsoft has a FastTrack program to help customers accelerate Windows 365 deployment, adoption, and data migration so they can deliver business value faster. Customers with eligible Windows 365 subscriptions can use FastTrack at no additional cost for the life of their subscription. For more details consult your Account Executive or CSAM.
