Need help understanding Mailbox usage

According to the O365 admin center, our storage used for mailboxes is slowly increasing. As expected. Some days ago though, the graph started diving down. In a week it decremented more than 100gb (from 600gb +). Then it shot up again. Graph is attached.

 

This isn't us doing cleanup or anything, so whats happening here?

There's an issue going on with reports currently, check your SHD:
