Admin account with uncontactable IT Contractor

Copper Contributor
Folks,

I have an issue with our office365 accounts. We employed a contractor to migrate our old email accounts to office365 some years ago.

Unfortunately this contractor is now gone bankrupt and is uncontactable.

My problem is I have no access to the admin account to make any changes.

How do I go about getting access to this account with MS?

Cheers

Hi,

You will need to raise to Microsoft Support for this as you’ll need to submit PII information. They will be able to trace your tenant based on the domain?

Assuming this contractor was the only person with a global admin account? No back door admin accounts or anyone else assigned that role?

Best, Chris
Thanks Chris for the quick response. Is there a phone number, online chat etc that I can use to relay this information.

Cheers
Sure is! You can go through the virtual assistant here to get the phone number

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contact

Or phone numbers are her

Hope that helps!
