MS Access 2010: Shutter Bar item display issue

Hello,

   I am having an issue with my item (tables, queries, etc...) names displayed in the Shutter Bar with large spacing in between.

   Version of Office Access: 14.0.7015.1000 (32-bit)

   Product: MS Professional Plus

   OS: Windows 10

   Table names normally shows with just single spacing, but in my case, it looks like 3.0 spacing between.  My table itself looks normal.

   Attached image may provide a comparison between what I think of a normal spacing (table result) and the largely spaced query names.

   If anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this spacing issue (in the Shutter Bar), I appreciate it!

Hi,

this is a known problem of Access on high DPI resolution screens. You can try the solution that Daniel Pineault suggests on his website.

Hi Karl,

   Thank you so very much for your time and knowledge.  When I open the msaccess.exe property window, I see the attached image under the compatibility tab.  This looks a bit different form the example you referred in your help.  When I click the "Change high DPI settings", I see the smaller window titled msaccess.exe properties (also in the same image).  Now what should I do from here?  I tried changing few thing here, but nothing I did fixed my issue...

   I appreciate your help!

Hi,

Daniel's description that I linked is made and pictured with Win 7. The settings for Win10 have been made more complicated. I've read at a website that what your picture shows on the right side (Override high DPI scaling behaviour + Scaling performed by Application) should be the equivalent for the Win7 setting.

However, I can't test it as I don't have a high DPI monitor. Same for what happens with the other option above "Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program...". Sorry, if you have tried both you can only hope to get another reply by someone who has done it successfully.

In 2016 Microsoft has fixed this scaling problem with an update but only for the newest versions Access 365, 2019 and 2016 C2R. The older versions still have it.
