The Yammer engineering team has had a busy year already! We’re excited to share even more updates and solutions at SharePoint Conference 2019 this May. We would love to see you there, so register now to save your spot! Here’s a wrap up of what’s new to Yammer that you can start using right now.
Schedule, produce and attend live & on-demand events in Yammer with discussion and AI-powered text-to-speech, face detection, and search. Leaders can engage by using live townhalls with real-time discussion and Q&A across Yammer, Stream, and Microsoft Teams. Learn more and get started with Live Events.
Connect your inner loop and outer loop by bringing your Yammer conversations into Microsoft Teams with the new Yammer Tab in Teams. This helps get employees the right information at the right time and provides employees a place for their questions and answers in Yammer without having to leave the Teams experience. Check out our recent blog on using Yammer and Microsoft Teams together.
Find your Yammer conversations or conversations between co-workers in Microsoft Search in Bing. Microsoft Search will only return information and files that you have permission to see.
Style your content in posts with rich text formatting – including bold, italic, links, bullets, and numbered lists. We'll begin rolling out this feature in the next few weeks for Yammer web client and desktop.
Invigorate your intranet by integrating Yammer conversations from topics, groups, or users in SharePoint with the Yammer conversations web part for SharePoint. This combines the social nature of learning across organizations with the content and knowledge management powers of SharePoint.
Here's a few of our favorite enhancements we've made over the last year to help you get more out of Yammer.
Polls, praise and announcements on are now available on mobile. Employees can share their vote and get quick feedback when they are on the go or away from their desk. Read more about how one Yammer customer used polls during an internal conference!
Sometimes you post a message within a group, and you find out that there's a better Yammer group for the conversation to be part of, a space your question might get answered quicker. In addition to sharing a conversation, now at any point of the conversation, any user can move an entire conversation, poll, or praise to a different group in order to make sure the right people see it.
With the new Yammer Highlights web part, you can now show new, top or curated conversations on any SharePoint site or page.
We’ve added seen counts to show you how many people have read a post in Yammer. See how many people have read a post with seen counts. These counts appear in the bottom right corner of the original post once someone has viewed the conversation.
And you can now also view and download group activity and engagement data with group insights for every group.
We’re continuing to invest in building the best enterprise social solution for organizations of all sizes. Check out our public roadmap, add your own ideas to UserVoice, join the conversation in the Yammer community, and keep an eye on the Yammer blog to stay up to speed with news, best practices, and everything else.
See you at SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas!
