Co-Author Question

Frequent Contributor

Hi,

If people are using co-authoring on a document, are the changes tracked? Co-authoring seems to disable track changes? This is new to me so I#m probably missing something.

Hi @David Gorman

Word Online doesn't allow tracking.

If you want to track changes, you'll need to do it via the Word desktop app instead ensuring that the file is also on SharePoint/OneDrive (and appropriate access to the file is set) to allow for co-authoring.

Best wishes

Damien

Thanks @Damien Rosario, this would be in the desktop app. We've discovered panicked users using Word Online and track changes

Hi @David Gorman

So your users thought Word online could do it? Has co-authoring in the desktop app resolved their issue?

Cheers

Damien
