No on-screen keyboard on tablet

I was asked to restart to get new features, which I did. When the tablet rebooted, it said "invalid user ID or password" and an OK button. Pressing OK gets me to a normal login screen. My WLID ID and profile are recognized, but... I can't put in my password because there's no on-screen keyboard. Pressing the "accessibility" icon gets me a context menu that includes "on-screen keyboard", but the menu is totally non-responsive.


Do I need to install a new build and start over? That's not a big deal, but what about my license?
