With the Your Phone app and its ability to sync and interact with phone messages and SMS, the Windows 10's separate app called Messages is kind of redundant. it's still in build 1903 but i hope in the next build 1909 or 2003, it will be removed or at least uninstallable.
Your Phone and Skype (UWP) apps are already built-in apps that do the same job.
