Updated 10/30/2018: This event has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 13th.

If you’re in IT, make sure you join us Thursday, December 13th Thursday, November 1st to get up to speed and get your questions answered about Windows 10, version 1809.

We’ve assembled a group of engineers and product managers from the Windows, Window Defender ATP, System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft 365 teams—and we’ll be answering your questions live from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Pacific Time during what promises to be an exciting and informative “Ask Microsoft Anything" (AMA) event. Add the event to your calendar and, if you haven't read about the latest enhancements in Windows 10 for IT, see What's new for IT pros in Windows 10, version 1809 for a quick rundown.

What is an AMA?

An AMA is a live, online, text-based question-and-answer event like a "YamJam" on Yammer or an "Ask Me Anything" on Reddit. This AMA is your chance to ask about things like:

  • Windows Autopilot self-deploying mode and Windows Autopilot for existing devices
  • Implementing Windows Defender ATP capabilities
  • Strategies, tips, and best practices for Windows as a service and update management
  • The latest Microsoft Edge policies, including kiosk mode
  • Integrated offerings, such as Microsoft Threat Protection, Microsoft Secure Score, and the Microsoft 365 Admin Portal

How does it work?

To submit a question, simply visit the Windows 10 AMA space and click Start a new conversation—and do this for each new question.

What if can’t attend at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time?

No problem. The Windows 10 AMA space will open up at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on December 12th 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time on October 31st and remain open until 10:00 a.m. on December 13th 10:00 a.m. on November 1st. At the end of the AMA, the Windows 10 AMA space will close and become a read-only resource. We will post a final recap within 72 hours.

Don't miss this chance to get answers to your questions. We hope to see you there!

I wonder if Microsoft will manage to release 1809 by December. Maybe it's time to rename it to 1810

An email update would have been great, but oh well.

@Deleted - The Microsoft US Online Events team did send an email out last week to everyone who had registered. (The email would have come from usevents2@microsoft.com.)

Ah, you're right -- I did receive a reminder of my registration.  I failed to notice that the date had been changed to November 28th.  I haven't received one for December 13th just yet.  Unfortunately, these date-changes are not obvious in these reminder emails.

@Deleted - Thanks for your feedback on the webcast reminder emails. We'll make sure to make it more obvious if we need to move something in the future. Since no registration is required for the AMAs, we don't have a way to email those who planned to attend on the original date. That's why we decided to move the AMA out to December--to make sure those who want to participate have the chance to hear about the new date and time. I hope you will be able to attend!

It has also been changed from a presentation to an AKA only meeting, correct?

@Martin Falkner - we will still be having a webcast and presentation. That will be on Wednesday, November 28th. You can register at https://aka.ms/discover1809. This AMA will then follow two weeks later to ensure that everyone has had time to experience the latest features and capabilities for themselves.

Good to know. This is all so confusing. I tried to join the original webinar today and ended up on this page.

If you click on the link in the mail for the webinar, you will end up on a page that still lists November 28th (event lobby). But if you click there on the link to join (https://aka.ms/ama/1809) you come to this page where it states "New date! December 13th". Maybe it would be worth to correct that link in the event lobby.

I have tried posting a question and I am being told that I don’t have access to start a new question in this area.  Frustrating after doing support of MS products since Windows 286, Windows 3 (plus OS/2 and OS/2 Warp products that had more stability in Y2K issues) and later - before CompTIA came into being a major player in the support area.

@ninja660 - The AMA space isn't open yet. We'll open it up at 10:00 a.m. December 12th and we'll be answering questions from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on December 13th. We look forward to your question!
