When adding a user with a duplicate display name in AD to a SfB on prem PChat room, we get the following error:
A search for member entries 'User's Display Name' returned multiple matches in Active Directory and cannot be resolved. You can remove these entries or contact your support team to fix the duplication in Active Directory.
Full explanation of the issue can be found in this thread, but there was never an answer provided.
Has anyone seen this and been able to fix it? Prefer not to open a Premier case since it seems to be a known issue.

Hi,
a workaround could be to use a AD group to manage access. Have you tested that?

I have, this is a great idea. I would need to work out how the group owner could manage their own AD group, though. Today, they can manage members just by opening the PChat console for their room.

You can assign managed by properties to groups, then if the users have win 10, you can search for AD groups.
