Skype for Business as a Webinar Tool

Anyone have any resources or integrations that make conducting Webinars easier to manage with Skype for Business meetings?

I am looking for

Invite system with link

Tracking who joined

Main concern is getting the leads out of the meeting after so that I can have some actionable items for sales to follow up on.

Have heard of other companie customer building web applications to handle some of these things, but I have not seen anyone release anything publicly.  Skype Broadcast just doesn't have the funcationality we needed to replace WebEx, Adobe from an external sales standpoint today.

I am frustrated with the inabililty to show a video or show your screen in Skype Meeting Broadcast. Need these two things to compete with the other solutions.

We do this today in our SFB Video broadcasts (archive here: http://aka.ms/sfbcastpast ; fresh one coming at 9am PST at http://aka.ms/sfbcast) by using a small HDMI->USB capture device.  The specific one we have is a Magewell - smaller than a deck of cards and so far works flawlessly.  It will injest the screen of a workstation and then turn it into a USB video feed that Skype Meeting Broadcast treats just like a camera.

  • Use Skype for Business Meeting Broadcast for webinars. You can collect who joined, have them fill out surveys, Q&As. Great for collecting information! Available in any of the E packages (E1, E3, etc...)

Just keep in mind that if you are using this for internal webcasting, users inside your network are going to all connect to SMB through your Internet connection.  If you are a large organization and want to use it as an internal web streaming tool, you may want to look at a multicast solution like Hive.
