Iron Contributor

Hey

On the Technet https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn951388.aspx no support for Server 2016 is listed:

These are the OS that will allow you to install and successfully use Skype for Business Server 2015.

Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter OS with all required updates installed.

Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard OS with all required updates installed.

Windows Server 2012 Datacenter OS with all required updates installed.

Windows Server 2012 Standard OS with all required updates installed.

So whats about Server 2016? Is it suppored or not? Any Timeline?

Regards

Not supported today, but this is in process of being tested.  Don't have an ETA at this time, as if we uncover bugs we want to get them fixed alongside declaring support for the topology.

Thanks!

Jamie

I've successfully installed it on a 2016 server in a lab to test with but obviously know it is not supported and if it breaks I'll tear it down. Need the OOS server to be supported too on 2016.
I did the same. It worked, but we need a official announcement / statement from Microsoft. Because some customer asked for it...

Hello Adrian,

On the official suport page there is this statement:

"Windows Server 2016 is not included in this list right now, but we're planning to add it as a supported option after Skype for Business Server Cumulative Update 5 is released. Until then, please don't try to use Windows Server 2016 as an OS for your Skype for Business deployment today, as it's not yet supported, and we don't recommend it. And check back to this page once the cumulative update is released to confirm Windows Server 2016 is added to our supported list at that time. "

so far, the latest release is CU4 HF1 (v6.0.9319.277) Feb2017

Hey Luis

CU5 (6.0.9319.281) is out now... but the Page (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn951388.aspx) show still the same... may they are not so fast in Updating the pages...

Hope it will change soon

Hi Graham - OOS is supported with Windows Server 2016 following the April 2017 CU.

Windows Server 2016 is not supported as an operating system for Skype for Business Server 2015, anymore! The article that mentioned support was published prematurely and was pulled.

As of today Windows Server 2016 support for Skype for Business Server 2015 is here! It's now official CU5 supports Windows Server 2016:

"We are happy to announce that Skype for Business Server 2015 is supported to run on Windows Server 2016 - if you have the May 2017 update (aka CU5) for Skype for Business Server installed."
