Modern Authentication in Skype for Business Online

Brass Contributor

Does the user sign-in experience change if I enable Modern Authentication in Skype for Business Online for my tenant?

Are they redirected to the ADFS page or anything?  Or will the user never know anything changed?

Thanks!

Hi, Alexander.

Thanks for the link.  I'm still a little unsure if anything appears to the user as being different.  Will I need to update any documentation for users?

Or does everything look the same and just use a newer/better technology?

Thanks!

The user sign in experience will not change. In fact I understand that any new O365 tenants that are created post August 2017 now have Modern Auth on by default for both Skype for Business Online and Exchange.

Kind regards
Ben

Don't know if you are aware of this but wanting to share.  If you are using Polycom devices as end points, make sure they have the latest firmware as modern auth is supported on version 5.5.1 and higher.

Good to know.  Thanks, Amie!

Excellent.  Thanks for the info, Ben.  Much appreciated!
