May someone has an idea what could cause the problem. We are facing the problem the german Umlaute are not displayed correctly when we call a user on our Avaya PBX. It seems the wrong charakter is already send in the invite to the gateway, which is a Ferrarie Office Master Gateway.
On the Avaya side it looks like (see attached Screenshot).

Hi Jörg.
If you dump the SIP stack trace from the SBC, where you see both "sides", you should be able to see what is sent in the from field.
I know various other hardphone variants having a problem interpretating various "non-standard" letters, like umlauts and scandinavian letters, where the problem was SIP invite is in UTF-8 but device was using another character encoding standard.
