Delegation to create Skype Meetings without Enterprise Voice

Copper Contributor

We have Skype for Business and some of the users would like to use meeting delegation function. It is easy for those users with Enterprise Voice enabled, but it is not so easy for those without EV enabled. There is a workaround by enabling EV, enable the delegation, and disable EV again. However, this is kind of tedious if you have a lot of users looking for that. Is there a better solution that anyone is willing to share?

I've heard of some getting it to work with SefaUtil, but I wouldn't call this an easier solution.  I would suggest hitting www.skypefeedback.com, looking for a similar idea or posting a new one and letting people here know the URL so they can vote on it.  This is a very common request.

I've found that giving Editor rights in the users Outlook calendar and then using Sefautil to set the SfB rights works if EV is not deployed.

It has it's quirks but works just fine by just piggy-backing off Outlook delegations.  Ref this article for back-end setup - https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/rischwen/2014/07/07/lync-2013-delegates-pt-1-non-lync-enterprise....

Will not work across a hybrid setup, but as long as users are on the same side, it works. Here is one more article to refer - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Set-up-a-Lync-Meeting-on-behalf-of-someone-else-ef62a986-d5...

On the Mac (Lync 2011), you can be the Delegator but not the Delegatee. Newer Windows versions are supposed to support up to 25 delegates - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3043678

I have to admit I'm not seeing this problem in my environment, and I don't have EV deployed.  My users are able to use the delegate functionality for their meetings.  I will say that those boss / admin relationships who have contacts with incorrect information run into problems, but deleting the contact always fixes that.
