4.0.8.0 update started pushing out to some SRS v2 devices via the Store on Friday, July 6th.  We expect that the update will be made available to all SRS v2 devices in the coming week.

4.0.8.0 enables both Skype for Business *and* Teams meetings support on Rooms Systems devices.  Teams is turned off by default once the update is applied.  Admins can enable Teams locally in device settings or via a remote xml push.

We have a Polycom MSR 300 on the 4.0.8.0 update.  S4B meetings work great.  However, while Teams meetings has been enabled and the account eventually signs in, our camera and conference phone do not yet work with teams.  The camera doesn't light up like the app is calling for it at all and doesn't display video.  The audio device/phone will work as an audio device, but its screen doesn't light up and call controls from it do not work like they do in S4B meetings.  Has anyone else seen this issue?

BTW, we are noticing the delay in Teams sign in when the appliance boots, but after about 5-8 min, the account does actually sign in.

Copper Contributor

Everything says you can enable teams after you apply this update manually or via XML but I cannot find anything about how to do this.  We have just one room right now for POC so manually is fine.

OK - forget this comment - applied the update through Windows store and now I see why no one asked the question - it's right in the setup :)

@Mike Farmer the xml must contain some of the following content:

SfB-only:
<SkypeSettings>
  <TeamsMeetingsEnabled>false</TeamsMeetingsEnabled>
</SkypeSettings>

SfB (default) and Teams:
<SkypeSettings>
  <TeamsMeetingsEnabled>true</TeamsMeetingsEnabled>
  <IsTeamsDefaultClient>false</IsTeamsDefaultClient>
</SkypeSettings>

SfB and Teams (default):
<SkypeSettings>
  <TeamsMeetingsEnabled>true</TeamsMeetingsEnabled>
  <IsTeamsDefaultClient>true</IsTeamsDefaultClient>
</SkypeSettings>

Does anyone know of a way to use the Skype room setup to join a Webex meeting or Zoom meeting?  I'm using the latest 4.0.8 build now in 'teams default mode'

Copper Contributor

@Mike Farmer the Logitech SmartDock with optional Flex allows you to bypass Skype and uses all room peripherals for your soft codec of choice.  An extra $900 but we've found it very useful.  1 HDMI and 1 USB connection, and the press of a button on the HDMI dongle included w Flex.

Copper Contributor

@Mike Farmer you would have to sign in to the device with the Admin user rathe than 'Skype' user

@Mike Farmer Agree with @Joshua Parrish, the Logitech Flex is the only option you have to use your SRS with SfB, Teams and any other videoconf software.

We have about 20 Logitech based SRS installed in our organization and are in general very happy with the functionality but have since the beginning struggled with the console not detecting the TV consoles after boot, possibly after power outages. The only workaround is a "hard" boot with the power button without the HDMI cables attached and the reconnect the HDMI after the system is up. The problem comes and goes without a clear pattern. We have also some Lenovo Hub 500 and have never experienced the same there. Has anyone seen the same issue? Have gone through the community posts but not found anything.

Brass Contributor

we also experience the reconnecting during peer to peer call . the calls disconnect randomly within 3-4mins.

conference call has no issue.

any suggestion?

Iron Contributor

@Ivar Engen, we face the same issue, both Lenovo and SurfacePro are impacted, but our fleet is much bigger (400+ devices). Possible root cause could be some TV models don't work properly, custom HDMI extenders/switches in between. Solution: always use direct HDMI connection between SRS and the screens. If that didn't work install Gefen HDMI extender between SRS and TV (https://www.gefen.com/product/booster-hdmi-edid-detective-EXT-HDBOOST-141)

Iron Contributor

@Pavel Aivazo - What type of HDMI extenders are you using today?  Crestron and Extron are huge players in the AV space and I've used them successfully in past projects, albeit without SRS integration.  Curious to see if your issues are with their gear...

Iron Contributor

@rovert506 - We use Crestron and Extron, and they work fine, however as we have hundreds of rooms in different locations there are other solutions to extend HDMI cables which had problems. I don't remember the makes exactly. Based on my experience I would recommend just direct HDMI connections without Crestron/Extron/Other if possible.

Brass Contributor

Thanks @Pavel Aivazov, we have the Logitech SRS extender boxes, will try without them and see if it solves the problem. Again thanks!

Iron Contributor

@Ivar Engen, Logitech Extenders should work fine - we didn't face any issues with them.

Are there any plans for dual screen support? I ran a test Teams meeting on one of our devices and was disappointed that it dropped the second screen when the meeting started, when Skype fully supports it.

Iron Contributor

I assigned our meeting room the Common Area Phone (Phone System / Skype Online 2) and Domestic Calling Plan, but still get the message about not being able to login to Teams.  Waited a good 30 minutes after reboot, but still can't join Teams meeting.  Using 4.0.19.

Iron Contributor

You need atm a license that contains a Teams License, so an E1,E3 or E5

Copper Contributor

Hi..

Can someone help with this issue:

I have the skype rooms V2 4.0.19.0 with E3 & Audio Conferencing Licenses applied.   I still can't use teams meetings, I can enable but its says it won't login to teams.  (no longer required.) - resolved.

Sorted now!  … delay in starting msgs.

@David Groom Is there any update on the licensing issue to enable an SRS for Teams?

Copper Contributor
I'm using E1 with Audio conferencing and it's working fine for me.
Microsoft

@Ron Scheuman Which license are you using now?

Copper Contributor

Hi @David Groom

I still have problem with signing in with E3 license.

Could you confirm that it works with E3

Kind Regards,

Peter

Iron Contributor

No keyboard available, when I want to invite somebody to a Teams meeting.

Build 4.0.31.0

Iron Contributor

Please ignore, have seen the comments on current licence requirements above to enable Teams.

Great if we could have an update on when an individual licence will be available like Skype.

Many thanks!

Iron Contributor

Can somebody confirm that "keyboard not popping-up" when inviting someone to a Teams meeting, on ThinkSmart 500 is a Microsoft related problem or is it Lenovo? Same Problem on Logitec devices?

Microsoft

@Guido Peter - Microsoft.  The ThinkSmart 500 on screen keyboard pop up issue will be fixed by the forthcoming Windows 10 Version 1803 (RS4) release.

Iron Contributor

Great! Do you have ETA for this?

Microsoft

@Guido Peter We're expecting 1803 (RS) to be unblocked as early as this week.  Could happen at any time now.

Microsoft

@Guido Peter We're now seeing 1803 (RS4) being made available to our SRSv2 devices here in Redmond.

Iron Contributor

Available for us to, updating now the first one.

Updated our SRS (Logitech SmartDock) to 1803 today.
Seems everithing ok

Regards

Luca

Iron Contributor

Available for us to. "Keyboard not popping-up" error, when inviting someone to a Teams meeting, seems to be fixed (ThinkSmart 500). But now we have no touch functionality in dial-pad view!

Copper Contributor

When will a second screen work properly for MS Teams calls?

Iron Contributor

Will revert back to 1709, because in Teams Mode, the Touchscreen isn't working. You can't dial or accept an invite.. :(

Iron Contributor

@Jörg von der Ohe We have same problem here (ThinkSmart 500).

Copper Contributor

Does Teams not support dual monitors on a Skype room system? During a Skype meeting, content is displayed on one monitor and participants are on the other. During my first Teams meeting, it appeared as though it only supported one display - the other was just grayed out. Thoughts?

Iron Contributor

@Jake BylandI don't believe dual screen support is yet there for Teams. Fingers crossed it won't be long.

Microsoft

@Jake Byland Dual Front of Room display support will be enabled in our next update - expected to release this month.  Currently, Skype mode supports dual FoR, but Teams mode does not.

Iron Contributor

@Guido Peterwe resolved our issue.. Due the fact that this was our demo device, there was no external display connected to this device. When we plugged in a display, the touch screens works a few secs later. I've opened a bug on this, because this works in the prior versions without any issue.

Copper Contributor
I'm having a problem joining external skype meetings from the SRS. We have skype external access off except for allowed domains. When I try to join external skype meetings for domains not in our allowed list, the SRS attempts to join and then just reverts back to the main meeting screen and gives me the option to rejoin the meeting which does nothing. We have no problems joining external skype meetings with the regular skype client, just with the SRS.
Iron Contributor

@Jörg von der Ohe actually the same behavior here. It is by the way also only a test device, therefore I had also no monitor attached ;). Nevertheless a quite special behavior.

Iron Contributor

As i said i've an open bug on this in the TAP Group and the PG is investigation the issue. Hopefully we will get an answer shortly.

Copper Contributor

Well.. Cant use the dials when using teams? Any fix out there?

When I attach a file (1 PP slide) to a Skype meeting I get a contents tab on the screen. If I do that with a Teams meeting, I do not get the contents tab, only the Participants tab shows.  Is this a known issue?  Seems sharing files would be important for Team meetings.

Copper Contributor

@David Groom Hi,
Cannot sign in Teams problem. Room Mailbox with E3 license. after the "can't sign in Teams" disappeared, I still cannot search anyone in my organization. From other Teams user, my SRS account is still Offline.

Machine is ThinkSmart Hub500. Any ideas?

Brass Contributor

We've been using the Common Area Phones SKU to licence SRS devices (under guidance from Microsoft) and we were told that Teams would be added to this SKU by end of Jan.
This new "Meeting Room" SKU is double the price (all of our users have EMS/Intune licences so we don't need that on the SRS)

Copper Contributor

Since the migration from our Skype Rooms to MS Teams, our tablets can no longer login.

When launching the SRS on a hotspot it works fine and installing MS Teams via admin -> MS Store, everything works correctly.
When opening the proxy completely, MS teams is able to login.

Are there any new IP ranges that needs to be opened except for the IP range mentioned by MS in the past ?

Copper Contributor

sry done
