Skype Room Systems v2 3.1.98.0 has been available as an automatic update since March 8th.

3.1.98.0 Release Notes are as follows:

  • Bug/Crash fixes to improve stability
  • Support for variable-sized console
  • Peripheral audio processing offloading (additional media whitelisting)

3.1.98.0 also includes optimizations which will enable IT Pros to build do-it-yourself images with Windows 10 Version 1709 January Update and later.  We'll be updating the TechNet documentation within the next few weeks to explain the how to build a DIY image with 3.1.98.0.

May 8th?

Microsoft

@Trent - Good catch.  I corrected the original article.  The update has been available since March 8th.

Does it also mean current systems can update to 1709 safely now too?

Microsoft

@Deleted - No, we haven't yet lifted the block on 1709. Please stay on 1703 for now.

Is there any indication on when SRSv2 will be compatible with 1709?

Are there any links to any of the older SRSv2 App versions?

Hi David,

Does 3.1.98.0 support Lenovo Hub 500? I have engineering sample of Hub 500 and it runs 3.1.98.0, so want to ensure if Hub 500 is supported officially now.

Iron Contributor

One more question - when SRS deployment toolkit will be updated (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=851168)? It's already 2 versions behind

Copper Contributor

Is there a set of install instructions somewhere or general guidance for updating SRS? I cant find it in the windows store, just generally confusing!

@Pavel Aivazov FYI I have a Lenovo Hub 500 too and it's on the same version 3.1.98.0.

@Nate Davis The update procedure is just head into Windows Settings > Start Icon > Store > ... and select Downloads and updates and then Get Updates.  That is for updating the SRSv2 app

Microsoft

@Benjamin Maclean - I'll update the blog once we know more about updating to a newer Windows version.  Nothing to share at this time.  App version 3.0.15.0 is still available on the TechNet DIY page.  We're only keeping one build at a time posted at that link.  At some point, we'll move to a newer version.

Microsoft

@Pavel Aivazov Yes, 3.1.98.0 supports the Lenovo Hub 500.  Also, we'll try to get a new version of the app (currently 3.0.15.0 on TechNet page) posted as soon as we have a chance to validate testing in-house.  In the meantime, your DIY system will update automatically to 3.1.98.0

Hello,

We need an administration web console to manage our SkypeRoom fleet. Have you planned to develop it like the LRS V1 with the Microsoft Lync Room System Administrative Web Portal ?

Hi David,

we use SCCM to deploy Skype Room Systems image and SRS Application in our company. We disabled Windows Store so our SRSs won't get new version from the Windows Store, that's why we are looking forward to new version source published on the TechNet. Can we get that source for "beta-testing"?

@David Groom Any news regarding the inplace update to 1709? I'm asking as we have a device that seems to be updated to version 1709 and nobody knows why but with the Build 3.1xxx it seems to work. The only issue so far is that the virtual keyboard is not available when you try to add someone to the conference. Registry Key EnableDesktopModeAutoInvoke doesn't work.

Cheers

Jörg

Microsoft

@Jörg von der Ohe No updates to share yet on unblocking 1709.  It's an important topic for us.  We're reviewing daily.

3.1.98.0 did include some optimizations in preparation for when we unblock 1709.

Hey David,

We had one of our room systems update to version 3.1.99.0, and it is no longer recognizing the Logitech Group system. I had just checked it last week after the previous update to v 3.1.98.0, and it was working fine at that time. Have you heard of any other reports of a similar issue with 3.1.99.0?

Microsoft

@Brian LaMere  Few things to check...

- What is Logitech Group FW version?

- What is Windows 10 Version number?

- Did you try unplugging/plugging the USB connection to Group?

- Are you able to make see Group in the audio device picker?

Iron Contributor

@David Groom we have a second device that was updated automatically to 1709 and therefor the virtual keyboard isn't working. Any news how we get them back or is inlace update to 1709 not supported with the latest versions from the App

Hi Jorg,

the only working fix is to re-install SRS from scratch. Use this technet article https://technet.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/mt790558.aspx to create Win 1709 USB stick and re-install your SRS. That worked for me.

When trying to install a fresh image from a USB during the installing updates portion I am getting "window could not apply unattend settings during pass [offlineServicing]."  I am using SW_DVD5_WIN_ENT_10_1703_64BIT_English_MLF_X21-36478 build of Windows.  I no longer have the older version of this install package and can not get the new one to work correctly.  Any suggestions?

Does anybody know what the current situation is regarding Windows Updates?  As both our devices have updated to 1709, I assume the 1709  'block' has been lifted?  Do we know what the current Windows update settings should be?

i.e. will Microsoft lift the block on 1803 and then the smart dock will automatically update to 1803?

As mentioned, we have 2 docks.  The update settings are both the same "automatically install updates"
