SharePoint Online - Add site retention policy - ADMIN not authorized?!

Hi

We are trying to add a retention policy to a communication site via site settings - retention (i'm translating from dutch....)

https://customer.sharepoint.com/sites/Finance/_layouts/15/policyconfig.aspx

When clicking OK we keep getting the error "ADMIN heeft geen machtigingen voor toegang tot deze bron" In english this translates to something like "ADMIN is not authorized for this source".

The user is a global admin.

Any thoughts on this one?

You should be added as Site collection admin for individual site collection to add a retention policy. Being a global admin doesn't automatically grant you access to all individual site collections.

Thnx for the reply. Unfortunatly I already tried this. I'm not only a global Admin but the account is a site collection Admin.
