Set Default column values to Folders in document library SharePoint

Can we able to set Default Column values at the time of Folder Creation in a default Document Library in SharePoint. ?? Does anybody had tried it out ?? By Default, we will be able to give the name only at the time of creation.

Hello! Did you ever explore the content type of document sets? It saves you time on insert right metadata ( using doc set create date column) and it is kind between folder and it m. Very useful in doc management. Greets, Eva

Thanks for your response. I don't want to make use of Document Set, rather i want Folder only.

Is there a way to set default column (Some Column other than NAME column) value for a folder metadata at the time of creating it in the Document Library OOB?

Hello! Nope, I regret...default doc lib has no other way, except you explore site columns and own user defined content types.
