My Existing Document Sets Not Updating to Modern Experience

I have a customer who is using Classic Document Sets. They have been waiting patiently for the modern experience but it never seemed to arrive. 

 

I poked around and discovered that if I create a new view and then select to change to that view while inside the document set, wallah...modern experience. 

 

Then I edited the Document Set Settings and chose the new view. But this new view will not "take" as the default for this doc set. 

 

The library advanced setting is set to use the modern experience. Any thoughts on how we get him upgraded?

I believe the modernization of document sets is not finished yet, but I would also recommend to report this problem via support ticket
