Metadata based Security SharePoint Document Repository

Hello Folks

We got a request to built a metadata driven document repository for a customer. For this requirement it would be ideal if security and permissions are trimmed based on metadata. So if users login to specific view only documents tagged with metadata they have access to  will be visible. Do you think i can accomplish this? Is there a way to configure permissions just based on metadata? I
