This post from the good folk at Gov.UK describes their journey through the management of caching for an optimum user experience whilst meeting compliance needs and against the backdrop of a very dynamic environment. Whilst our needs aren't as sophisticated, I am curious to learn how this might be handled in SharePoint Online. In contemplating the types of scenarios where this would be important in business, I came up with Mergers & Acquisitions; Crisis Management; Changes to Policies - there are probably many more that others could identify.
How does SharePoint Online currently handle end-user caching? (how long for etc). How might we 'override' this in an emergency? What do I as the Intranet Content Manager, new to SharePoint Online, need to know about this area? This feels like one of those things to know that isn't urgent... until it is...
