Highlighted Content crashes browser for certain users

I've run into a problem with the Highlighted Content web part. I am attempting to build a page which aggregates content from multiple document libraries into a single view. However, I'd like to separate the page into different sections so using multiple highlighted content web parts targeted at different libraries works great.

The problem is that not all users have access to all libraries. I have found that if I have a highlighted content web part which specifically targets a library that a user doesn't have access to, the result is that their browser freezes, CPU spikes, and the page simply stops responding.

For clarity, the web part is configured as follows.

Source: "A document library on this site"

Document Library: "Private Docs" (user doesn't have access to this lib)

Document type: "Any"

Contrast this with a web part targeted at any document on the site which works fine.

Has anybody else experienced this?

UPDATE: Upon further testing, this problem seems to occur when the "Hide this web part if there's nothing to show" checkbox is checked. Un-checking this box seems to fix the problem.

We have exact the same Problem.
I hope micorosoft is working on that issue, because we really need this Webpart in the way you discribed!
