If a customer is just planning to use SharePoint Online only then what are the DNS records they should be adding at the DNS hosting provider's  end ? To me it seems like only the TXT record is enough .Is that right or should they be adding the other records too ? I don't think the MX record is required as they won't be using EXO .Is that right or am I missing something ? I took a look at this link below but I'm still not clear . Please guide .

Hi @ Vignesh G

As in this article, you only need DNS records for SharePoint Online if you use SPO to send emails externally.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/enterprise/external-domain-name-system-records

If not, then no DNS records. The URL of the SharePoint site will be based on the onmicrosoft.com domain when you first set up the 365 account. So if you called it myorg.onmicrosoft.com the SPO URL would be myorg.sharepoint.com

Hope that answers your question!

Best, Chris
