Adding SP DB to availability group

Silver Contributor

when a sharepoint 2013 database is added to SQL Server Availability Group, does that process have any affect on the availability of the SP farm?

Since adding the database also involves syncing with secondary replica server the failover switch always does a farm shutdown and restart.

Thanks, that is what I was afraid would happen,

Solution
If your SharePoint farm is already pointing at the AG endpoint, then no adding a database to the AG does not cause the database to become unavailable.

Thanks for the confirmation. I trust your answer more than the previous one i received :)
