SDS year changeover

Copper Contributor

Hi all,

We are just getting to grips with SDS and hoping to really scale it up across many faculties in our school from September. I am wondering though, what happens at the end of a school year? Eg most of our courses are 2-3 year courses (though teachers might change). We don't want to put in the gorundwork to make an amazing team and class notebook for Y12, only to find that it all disappears as soon a we roll over to Y13. Nor will each teacher want to manually copy across each section of notes in Class Notebook.

So.... my questions are:

1. What happens at the ending date for a group/when that group ceases to exist as the timetable changes? Does it disappear or is it archived somehow?

2. Can we map old groups to new groups (eg. 10A/English1 is now called 11A/English1, for example), so that there is no apparent change for staff/students?

Thanks all!

Hi Giselle,

As of November last year you can add Term Start and End dates when configuring the sync profile. This data can be used to tell SDS when to archive those sections.

Make sure to check the docs regularly, as there are updates to the service every month.
