I created a SQL Express 2016 (SqlLocalDB v13.x) and an app to access it. Works fine on my machine, Windows 2008sp2. When I install SQL Express 2016 on a Windows 10 Azure PC, I can not access the DB. I can not configure MSSQLLocalDB because the SQLLocalDB prompt doesn't work correctly.
(This is a known problem in Azure but I can not post a link, but, you can do a search on "SQLLocalDB Utility 2016 Error Code formatmessage 15100"
If I install SQL Express 2017 (v14.x) , is it backwards compatible? Can I access the DB created in v13.x ??
