About 5 months ago I upgraded from SQL 2008 to 2014 and since then when launching SSMS it sticks at the SQL splash screen and never fully launches it. I found a work around, rename C:\Users\<useracct>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\SQL Server Management Studio and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\SQL Server Management Studio key end task on ssms.exe and next launch is successful. Has anyone else run across this and resolved the issue?
