I am using the catalog feature of MS Publisher and using an MS Access DB query as the source data. More than one person has to use the Pub file and the path to the Access DB file is different for each user.
I have made this work up to now by giving each user his own version of the pub file with their unique path saved within the file. This works, but I would like to be able to have a single version of the pub file and customize it using a user environment variable.
The problem I have is that the environment variable is instantiated upon execution. Thus when I save the pub file, the instantiated path is saved, rather than the environment variable. Thus, it won't be different for different users.
Is there a way to accomplish my goal with or without using an environment variable?
