I wrote a little over a month ago about the new default behavior of Roadmap - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Project-Blog/Roadmap-New-default-setting-coming-soon/ba-p/335... and you will now find that it is ''On by default.  So if you have a Project Online Professional or Premium license then head over to https://project.microsoft.com to see what it is all about.  Take a look at the collection of videos from our User Assistance team at https://support.office.com/en-us/article/video-welcome-to-roadmap-57764149-51b8-468f-a50d-9ea6a4fd83...

When will it be available in the GCC-High Tenets?

When will we be able to Publish a Project Summary task to the Roadmap?

Nice feature, I can see Roadmap and use them. However I don't have Microsoft Online so how can i connect my roadmap to a project without PWA since PWA comes with subscription of online. I have Project Professional instance with my 365 subscription. Please advise.

Microsoft

This feature only allows you to connect to Projects in the Project Online service @fliaquat - if you have a Project Online Professional or Premium sku (which I assume you have to see Roadmap) then setting up PWA and saving plans from your client to the service would make them available to Roadmap.

Because Roadmaps can't be viewed by users with Essentials License I am putting my rollout on hold. Microsoft should make viewing a Roadmap available to all Licensed Users

@BrianSmith , Thanks a lot. My intent is not to use PWA but connecting my roadmap to a Project so any updates are reflective and in sync. If we don't use PWA, is there an alternate way to have both way connectivity between high-level deliverables on roadmap.

I believe you need Project Online for Roadmap

Copper Contributor

@dlendry Yes, I have the Project Professional Online version and can access roadmap, it's only connecting my roadmap to project.

Awesome, Using road map at high-level is helpful. Can anyone advise on what's the best way to automate / sync roadmap with devops board.

Each time i create an item, i have to manually link and then connect with DevOps.

Now, i have to make dual entries to reflect a task on the roadmap (This is true if i want to show timeline). I follow the process as:

1. Add an item on the roadmap

2. Add an item on Devops board

3. Connect that item on the roadmap

I have to repeat these steps for each item on the roadmap. I tried using flow but couldn't locate any which sync all my DevOps tasks with roadmap. (Note: I am using DevOps board just to reflect roadmap tasks timelines, i have option to add start and finish date in roadmap then i may not use Devops board).

Does anyone know or can confirm when Road Map will be available on Project Online Professional? I asked my IT guys to turn this feature on and they came back to me and advised that this is currently not supported and sent me the screenshot below:

We use online professional and premium for faculty. Thanks

Hi @AshMR please tell your IT guy to keep an eye on the Message Center - there should be some news regarding Roadmap for EDU soon.  It isn't the Project Online Professional part that is stopping you right now - it hasn't been released for EDU at all.

Best regards,

Brian.

@Brian-Smith thanks for the update.

Copper Contributor

@Brian-Smith do you know if there has been any further update on the EDU release? My IT guys haven't reported any updates in the past few months. Thanks.

Hi everyone.  Are there any conditions that exist that would prevent a published project in Project Online, where the project is not found when trying to add it to an existing Roadmap?   I am trying to create a top 10 list view in a roadmap, but I can't see six of the ten projects that are published out there that I would like to add to that Roadmap.  All are Enterprise Project types.

Thanks,
MB
