Outlook Customer Manager loading like forever

In OWA, My outlook customer manager always takes age to load a single customer and sometimes it will keep loading without showing anything, this is driving me nuts and I have no idea how to do with it, please help me out.

Hi Allen,

 

To troubleshoot the issue, please clear the cache of your IE browser with the steps below and check if the issue can be fixed.

Please go to IE settings > General > Settings under Browsing history > Caches and databases.

Delete cache files for the website "outlookapps.com".

Then, restart Outlook 2016.

You are far from alone!  Suggested fixes do not work and still waiting for a Microsoft tech to get in touch again since yesterday.  Big impact on business and have spent loads of time trying to get it sorted with technical support.  Last effort yesterday was to roll back to first release.  No improvement at all.

So far scripts have been run in the background -  no improvement

Copy of older version of 365 programme deleted - no improvement

Followed instructions re deleting IE cashe - no improvement.

Roll back to first release - no improvement.

I have the icons at the bottom, as below.  I don't have the icon you are referring to at all.  The pentagon icon is the icon I use to access OCM, or try to anyways!

I was advised of the merits of upgrading from Office365 Home to Office 365 Business Premium a couple of weeks ago and have had sooooo many issues getting it working, that I am just about to pull the pin on it and go back to the Home version....

 

I NEED YOUR HELP!!

Have you checked if you assign OCM license? Moreover, at OWA, please check if OCM add-in is enabled in OWA option->General->manage add ins.

My main problem is that I don't have the little pentagon icon that you have and therefore cannot the OCM page where you can view all contacts, add a contact, change the currency etc etc.

 

I have had some technicians try and find out why but nobody can work it out and Microsoft phone support people tell me the cannot help because they do not offer support for their OCM add-in.

 

As I have a Mac, someone made the suggestion to me that the problem may be that I'm running Office 365 Business Premium on a Mac. So I went and purchased Windows for $199 yesterday and loaded that on my Mac and the pentagon icon is still not there....

I'm not as technically literate as I'd like to be so could you possibly break down your suggestion for me.

 

You mention I should check if OCM add-in is enabled in OWA option->General->manage add ins.

 

I know OCM is Outlook Customer Manager.

I'm guessing when you say OWA you mean Outlook web application - is that correct? Is that when I'm looking at my emails in the Office 365 Business Premium screen? If you do mean that screen, then I've looked for the word 'General' everywhere on the screen but can't find where you mean I should click??

 

Allen (who has also been posting on here and replied to your post about this, was helping me a couple of weeks ago to try and get this pentagon icon to appear but we didn't succeed. Thank you for your help though Allen. I really appreciated it.

Have you clicked on the three dots that should be along side Outlook icons? As below:

Microsoft should help you with OCM.  They certainly helped me.  Have you tried raising a ticket from the admin area? As below:

Sorry not a techie just another customer fumbling my way through the various 365 issues.  Don't get too excited about using OCM.  It takes ages to load and as a result is pretty useless!

RE: the 'Need Help | Feedback buttons - I can't see them anywhere either?? What page are they on? I've looked everywhere in the Admin Centre and on the page where I see all my emails but can't see this.

Yes I do have those support options inn the admin centre however I have contacted my licence provider listed when I click New Service Request and they cannot work out the issue and have advised i would need to pay them a fee for anymore help. As their prices are quite high and not affordable to me, I am left with no choice but to try and solve the issue myself. I'm so close to canceling my 365 Business Premium version and just going back to my old 365 Home version.

I really only wanted the business premium version so I could use OCM as my CRM and that's the only functionality in it that's not actually working for me.....

That is strange.  TBH OCM is pants anyway.  Mine is still trying to load as we speak.  I have recently upgraded to Business Premium from Small Business and now Word tries to save documents twice, word and Excel freeze constantly, documents take ages to save, outlook can't search for emails any more, OCM takes so long to load it is rendered usesless etc etc .  It just goes on and on!  If you can roll back to 365 Home, get some of your money back and get a decent cheap CRM package go for it!

I am not very technical so this may be obvious to some, or perhaps this is just what worked for me.  I was trying to find OCM in the WEB version of Outlook (don't know if it's supposed to be there or not). Finally downloaded the applications to the computer and then the icons showed up on the desktop version.  Of course, one computer will only spin when loading OCM. Soooo frustrating!

I am in touch with Microsoft about this and have sent them various logs from OCM when it did eventually load.  Latest is that "this is a known problem" and they rolled out an update last week.  Would be worth checking to see if your Outlook version is the latest.  This has made it slightly better for me but only to the extent you can gain access to it the same day!   Did you use BCM, out of interest, as I think it has something to do with that. 

Total pants really but it does look as though they are trying to do something about it at last.

It would definitely be worth raising a ticket as the more people complain about this the more chance they will get off their backsides and do something about it.

FYI I sent an email to their MD (you can get it from www.ceoemail.com) and things moved quite quickly after that.  What I really wanted to do is complain that I have been sold a pup but Microsoft are so arrogant they don't have anywhere you can complain, other than their suggestions web page.  Suggestion: Don't dump flaky software on your customers!

They may try to get you to uninstall and reinstall Office which will take ages and in my opinion won't fix the problem as it is due to rubbish coding, which is part of the package anyways, so you will just reinstall rubbish coding again!  If they do persuade you to do that it would be good to know if it fixed it (you never know).  I am resisting!

Check you have the latest version too as this does improve things a little.

Hi,

Had some engineers on my PC yesterday trying various things out.  They increased the cashe limit and this has definitely helped.

Go to Explorer settings - internet options, click settings, choose caches and databases tab and then click exceed limit.

Hi friend. How your experience with Outlook Customer Manager? It have same functions of other CRMs like Salesforce, Pipedrive, etc? Have value fields, pipeline sales, team communications, etc?

I'm having the same issue, and clearing the cache in I.E. and restarting my PC did not help.

I wouldn't bother with OCM.  It doesn't work properly and if you ever decide to use an alternative after giving it a go (if you can ever get it to load) you will not be able to export the contact details out of OCM.  Not even Microsoft can find a solution to the export issue and I still have an open ticket from at least 6 months ago.  OCM is a disaster and should be avoided at all costs.
