In the past week, we have been getting reports of Office 365 Business Premium subscribers on First Release not seeing Outlook Customer Manager. We would like to thank you everyone who reported the problem.

 

After investigating the issue, we found that Outlook Customer Manager is currently being provisioned only to tenants who selected "First Release for everyone: Get updates early for your entire organization". If your admin selected the "First release for selected users" option, even if you are explicitly added as the First Release user, you will not be see Outlook Customer Manager yet.
 
We expect to start rolling out to remaining Office 365 Business Premium subscribers in a few weeks. If you want access right away, you can get Outlook Customer Manager early by changing the First Release option (navigate to Admin > Settings > Organization Profile > Release preferences) to "First Release for everyone: Get updates early for your entire organization".
 
We are working hard to give you a great experience with Outlook Customer Manager, and thank you for the feedback and the interest.

When will I get access to Outlook Customer Manager. You are constantly making excuses and making false promises regaring the date it will be released to us. What is so hard about this, its just software! My IT director spent hours on the phone and email with Office 365 tech support and they could not figure this out. Your own people don't know whats going on. 

 

Also, how do I make sure that my "First Release" account is set to "Fast"? When I followed the instructions on MS website by: going to File/"Account" and clicking "First Release" and going to "Additional Properties" under "My Account" in the Admin Tool for Office 365- there was NO "First Release" in either spot and definitely no "Fast" option. To be clear I know I am a "First Release" customer and I just want the "Fast" option so I can get OCM for Outlook faster

I am sorry that we are not able to roll out OCM sooner to everyone. Our goal is to deliver a simplified customer manager experience in outlook. In order to meet this goal, we are making significant changes to the exchange services. The complexity of different dependent systems -- which need to be rolled out before OCM, makes it challenging to estimate precisely when each users will have OCM.

 

Nevertheless, our team is working hard to deliver OCM as quickly as we can to everyone. As per the post above, OCM should be available to O365 business subscribers who opted in for "First Release for everyone" option (see Set up Standard of First Release option in O365). 

 

Please note being in FastTrack program does not necessarily result for you to get OCM -- unless you set the option above from the O365 admin UI. If you are changing the option to Fist Release for everyone, please allow up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect and OCM to show up.

 

You should also make sure your outlook meet the minimum requirement as per this post.

 

If you have meet all of the above and still do not have OCM, please send me your account information as private message and we will investigate.

I'm an an end-user in an E3 organization. Do you believe that OCM would ever be released to us?
We do not have a plan beyond Business Premium at this time. There is an existing request for E3 at http://aka.ms/ocmuservoice. I would encourage you to vote to help us to collect data for the interests and to help us prioritize.

AGAIN I have "Office 365 Business Premium" I do NOT see "First Release" option (see screen shot). I think setting it up for "Office 365 Business Premium" vs "Business Pro" is done differently (see link at bottom for details). I have update monthly turned on under download settings and I did the "First Release" equivlant for "Business Premium" users when it first came out.  

 

Please have the team rolling out OCM make sure they are providing to "Office 365 BUSINESS PREMIUM" users as well. Thanks

I followed all instructions and still do not have OCM.  It's been about 6 weeks now with the same issues and 2 support calls without resolution.  I am not sure if I am the exception here but my account follows all guidelines and specifications.  Please let me know what else I can do to get OCM.

I have just done an Office update/download on my O365 Bus Premium account and OCM has still not downloaded.

I am hoping to deploy this and set up for a series of clients, so would be grateful on any update at this time.

The latest download version this morning is 1703 (Build 7920.1000) Office Insider Fast

I have been waiting for this update for months.  I have made sure that my account would fit all conditions but I still have not received the update.  I am running version 1701 (Build 7766.2060).  I see that a lot of people are having the same issue.  Is there anything else I need to do?  Do I need to reinstall Office?  Please let me know as I would to start using this in my Office.

Hi - I do not see customer manager although i eagerly await it as it may be exaclty what I need to avoid having to endure the punishment of ACT! or one of the cloud contact managers - neither of which is appealing relative to that very incremental functionality being provided by o365 as part of my E3 license - in a way that you used to have with business contact manager - the greated app microsoft never charged for. 

 

To say Dynamcis Sales is a non-starter would be an understatement.   So please let me know what I can do other than wait - thanks very much.  This is what I currently see on my office apps:

does First Release for everyone really pushes the OCM vs First Release for selected users only? users setup on first release still dont see OCM after a month...

We are rolling OCM only to tenants selected the "First Release for everyone". I received some reports that the some of the organization's First Release setting not updated on the Exchange, hence OCM are not installed. If you are selected for "First Release for everyone" and not seeing "Customer Manager" on your outlook after 24 hours, please contact me (via private message) and I will check your Exchange setting.

Bret, Outlook Customer Manager is currently only offered to O365 Business Premium subscribers. I would encourage you to vote at https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/407082  to request for availability for E3. Your vote help us to prioritize our plan.

thanks - will do.  If Microsoft thinks that Dynamics Sales is remotely usable as a contact management system like ACT! or Goldmine or Zoho or Pipedrive, they need to make sure someone didnt spike the cappucino machine with somethign.  Its amazing that something that is value added is made available to customers who spend LESS money - the only explanation has to be they are trying to force you to Dynamics 365 which is equivalent to asking you to buy a small bakery operation to bake a duncan hines cake.

I tried the link for feedback and it takes me to a site that doesnt get passed my credentials from this one and has "time sink" written all over it.  Hopefully you can carry the torch here - but it is confounding and frustrating none theless.

Welly, I appreciate your efforts here but I am a Microsoft Partner, run a hedge fund and am starting a medical device company.  I can't spend another second on this.  you shoudl try a use case not as an administrator and see what the experience is like - its mind numbing to do this - but tell Satya I guess I need to license zoho or ACT!

I've got data in Business Contact Manager and keen to migrate this to Customer Manager.  How do I do that?
