Outlook 2016 15.26.1 Mail Sorting

I noticed Mail sorting in 15.26.1 works properly when using Arrange By Date Received but when switching to Arrange By From it reverses the sort even though the arrow points in the same direction.  Has anyone else noticed this?  It's driving me crazy.  I'm running macOS 10.12.

I haven't noticed that issue exactly, but I have had a LOT of difficulty trying to sort by Category (works some of the time and not very well then), and I cannot SORT at all by Unread Messages.  I know you can filter by Unread Messages, but I want to see all my messages - just with the Unread Messages on top.  I think I read here somewhere that searching by Category basically doesn't work, and hasn't for a long time.
