Do you use Word Online and OneNote online in your native language? We want to hear how the localized (non-English) versions of Microsoft Office Web Applications are landing in your market. From November 13th to November 24th we are running a contest in search of the best language issues on localized versions of Microsoft Office Web Applications (Word Online & OneNote online).

Ideally you will need to use two web browsers for testing (e. g. Internet Explorer and Google Chrome). You may want to set the web browsers language - one for English and one for your native language so you can compare them.
In Internet Explorer to change your language, click the wheel icon in the top right corner, click Internet Options, on the General tab, click Languages. In the next dialog click Set Language Preferences and click your native language and click Move up to move your language up in the list so that it is at the top.
(If you do not have your language in the list, you need to click Add a language and add your language.) After you move your language to the top, close the dialog and click OK twice.
In Google Chrome, click the hamburger icon (3 dots) in the top right corner, click Settings, enter the word "language" into the search field, then add your language and/or move your language to the top of the list under Languages, click Done.
If you are on a certain subscription plan (e.g. E3) then the above may not work and you may need to also change your language setting in your O365 personal profile. Please note it also may take about 30 seconds to visibly see the change reflected in the User Interface.
How to enter:
If you see anything you think we should fix in or improve in Word Online or OneNote Online while carrying out Steps 1 to 22 below, just submit your entry by selecting “start a new conversation” in the Competitions space, adding a screenshot and as much detail as you can in the body of the post:

Step 1. Go to: office.com
Step 2. Sign in with your e-mail account: Enter your e-mail address and password and click Sign in.
Step 3. The Office.com landing page displays. Please note that during this scenario you are going to check features of two apps: Word Online and OneNote Online and you will need to get back to this landing page in order to click the respective app tile, so do not close this page after you launch the first app.
WORD ONLINE FEATURES
Step 4. Click the Word tile. A new window opens with Word Online landing page. Click one of the templates, e. g. New blank document. The file opens.
Step 5. Go to the REVIEW ribbon tab and to the Proofing group. Check the translation of the Proofing group name. Hover the mouse over the Spelling & Grammar icon and when you hover over it ensure that the icon and tooltip both spell correctly.
Step 6. Click the arrow for the Spelling & Grammar option. Check the translation of the menu that displays.
Step 7. Click Set Proofing Language. The Language dialog displays. Check the translation of the bottom part options (below the language list). Click Cancel.
Step 8. Now open each of the other ribbon tabs: File, Home, Insert, Page Layout to ensure the translation of ribbon items are correct and consistent with the Office client versions.
Step 9. Open a new tab/window in your web browsers copy the following link to the address bar of your web browsers:
A Word Online document should display to you. Click the little arrow next to Edit Document in the top right corner. In the menu, click Edit in Browser.
Step 10. When the document switches to the edit mode, start typing into the document. Go to the top right corner and you should be able to see the Anotheruser_name is also editing string. Check its translation. (You might need to refresh the page.)
Step 11. Click the little arrow next to the user_name is also editing string and check the translation of the options in the pop-up that displays.
Step 12. Dismiss the pop-up by clicking outside and you can close Word Online window/tab as you finished all test cases for Word Online.
ONENOTE ONLINE FEATURES
Step 13. In your web browsers, open a new tab/window. Copy the following link into the address bar: https://1drv.ms/o/s!ArjgbcpNM60YgRSu3b4-u1DNgRVV
A notebook opens. Click Edit Notebook and Edit in Browser.
Step 14. Now open each of the ribbon tabs: File, Home, Insert, Draw & View to ensure the translation of ribbon items are correct and consistent with the Office client version of OneNote.
Step 15. Go to the second pane and create a new page by clicking + Page at the bottom. You should be able to see Untitled Page in the second pane. Go to the main pane (the third pane from left) and enter some page name at the top. The Untitled Page text should change into your new name.
Step 16. Stay in the second pane from the left. Right-click the page header part with the page name you created. A context menu should display. Check the translation of the Move/Copy option.
Step 17. Click the Move/Copy option. A dialog displays. Check its translation.
Step 18. Click Section X (or in case there are other sections, click any other section with the exception of the section called password-protected) and click Move. A message dialog displays. Check its translation. Click No.
Step 19. Go to the second pane and right-click the page header with name again. Click Move/Copy. In the Move/Copy Page dialog, click Section X (or in case there are other sections, click any other section with the exception of the section called password-protected) and click Copy. Quickly focus on the top part of the screen on the right side. You should be able to see a yellow message confirming the page has been copied. Check its translation.
Step 20. Go to the second pane and right-click the page header with name again. Click Move/Copy. In the Move/Copy Page dialog, click the section called password-protected.
Step 21. Click Copy. Quickly focus on the top part of the screen on the right side. You should be able to see a yellow message saying the page cannot be moved/copied. Check its translation.
Step 22. You can close all browser session as you have completed all scenarios. Thanks so much for entering!
