Currently the company is switching over to teams (having never used it previously or skype for business) as part of Office 365 subscription.

 

We have added a small set of users and created some teams as well.

The first thing that seems I can't figure out is where are the video chat/call icons? If I create a meeting I can start a video chat but I can't start a video chat/voice chat with any of the contacts, there are no icons avaliable at all.

 

Is there a setting that needs to be turned on somewhere to enable this?

Are you song the desktop app? If not , What browser?

It should be in the uppger right corner

@adam deltinger i'll try attaching again, I checked the polices can currently everyone has the Org wide settings active, which has Allow IP video and call recording enabled

Have you checked messaging policies on teams?

Have you got a voice routing policy for the outbound calls?

 

If you have enabled a user for Teams and the call / Video button does not appear then check the log file to see why it is not appearing.

"Start Teams client > Press>  CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+1.
A small dialog appears at the bottom-right.
Click on this and the download folder opens.
Open the file named "MSTeams Diagnostics Log" + datetime.

Search for "UserAppsStore"

 

You will get something like this:

In this case the the client reports that the user is not EVEnabled and it also doesn't see the OnlineVoiceRoutingPolicy being assigned.

 

Check your configuration or wait for replication to take place if you recently activated the user."

I would first check if it’s applied on the web client! Also is this also affecting everyone?

Yeah, its everyone and its also on the Web Client as well.  Could this be a subscription thing? @adam deltinger

Yeah I think you are right this doesn't seem right at all @adam deltinger 

I don't think you need a ticket but I guess don't hurt, However I'm sure we can figure out what is going on. Can you do a fuller screenshot of the screen?

Go into Settings and Devices and make sure you have a Microphone and Webcam picking up there first off. It could be that your windows 10 settings aren't allowing all apps to use it and not showing there. Place to start anyway. But due to the fact they don't show at all I want to see what window you are in.

I've attached a screen shot a chat windows and also the settings screen, where you can see it is picking up teh web cam@Chris Webb 

OK has to be calling policy then. in teams admin check under voice > calling policies > global > make private calls.

then check to make sure under users you are set to org wide and not something else.

I checked and make private call was disabled and have turned it on for the global policy, which currently all pilot users are on will check back later to see how long it propergates and if it has an affect@Chris Webb 

that should be it then. should take about 10-15 min. but seen about an hour or two before.

Yes i just checked when I saw you email and the icons are there now so it took the couple of hours like you said, thanks for the help for that.  I would have never found that out@Chris Webb
