Does anyone know of a way to undock chats in the desktop UI for MS Teams to allow for a stand alone chat window while simultaneously in a meeting?
Currently when you click out of a meeting and go to a chat it minimizes the meeting window in the top left pane. I would like the experience to be keep the meeting in the large center pane and open up the chat in a undocked chat window.
Anyway. When you are in a meeting if you look along the top right you can do meeting chat on a right column attached pane to the meeting if you didn’t see it there. Yeah it’s not ideal and def. patiently waiting for pop out meeting and or chats or whatever they end up with but figured I’d point that out if you were talking about meeting chat which has that little chat cloud there in top right to pop out.
This is a daily problem so it is good that Microsoft is working on this feature at least. I often read documents in Teams and then I get a chat message and then I have leave the document (could use the quick reply but I normally don't) and when use the back button I'm back in the beginning of the document.
This is a feature I would love to see. Much like how Skype use to be able to have multiple chat windows open. I have 4 people that we like to have windows open and bounce quickly/easily back-n-forth, especially when you use multiple monitors. Can have all chat windows on side monitor and still work in Teams or other Apps throughout the day. Or does Trillian need to make a plug-in into Teams? ;)
I really don't like to have to navigate through the chat list. Like to just drag a chat out onto my desktop and leave it there. Having however many chat windows I need open for my team.
