We, in our company, have noticed that we are not able to open some PDFs within the Teams App for MacOS. After investigating I found out that this only happens with PDF files containing only a picture (e.g. scanned documents).
If I try to open it directly by clicking on the file within the Teams chat I receive an error "An error occurred while processing your request.". When I click on the 3 points and "Open Online" it downloads a PDF file which has corrupted data, meaning it's also not possible to open it via Preview or Adobe Reader. Downloading the file normally works.
I did not experience any issues with the exact same file in the exact same chat while using Teams via Google Chrome, so this should be an issue with the latest Mac App.
Anybody else experiencing this issue or having found a way to fix it?
I have five current Macs, only one of which has any issues at all opening PDFs inside the Teams client UI. I have opened a ticket with Microsoft O365 Support to try to learn what I am doing right on the four Mac's and wrong on the fifth. All are running Mojave 10.14.3 (latest), Acrobat Reader DC (latest) and O365 E3 (latest).
Interestingly, the Mac with the issue is a new-ish Mini -- an older Mini, and a variety of MacBooks, all on Mojave are perfect.
Opening PDFs from SharePoint in Chrome and Safari works everywhere. Changing the default app for PDF from Acrobat to Preview and back makes no difference. All of the computers seem to be solid otherwise.
Probably need to delete a pref file on the troubled Mac. Waiting for Microsoft.
