wrong user.PNGHey guys, just wanted to bring up a pretty important bug I noticed today.  When an admin changes the name of an O365 group in the O365 Admin Center, in the Team, the change is logged in the team chat (as expected), but the name change misattributes the change as being done by the first owner of the group, not the person who actually changed it. For example, in the attached picture, I made a name change in the Admin Center to one of our teams, but it logged as saying that the owner of that team (not me) changed the name.

 

Please fix this, as this will certainly upset a lot of team owners if an admin needs to alter group properties for whatever reason. No one likes misinformation on their teams, and frankly someone could frame someone else for doing something potentially against company policy and incriminate them for something they didn't do.

Out of curiosity: Are you a member of that Team and not an Owner?


@Juan Carlos González Martín- Yes, I am a member of that team. That's how I am able to view the action within the team. Does this affect the output of the activity?


Yeah this is a bug that’s popped up around the same time presence updates hit. If you add or remove anyone from admin it’ll also pick a random admin to show they performed the task.

do you know if the audit log shows the correct information or is it wrong also?
I was curious about this myself, but I couldn't recall when I had this going on because I was in the audit log the other day trying to see. My gut wants to say it should be right in audit log but I'll see if I can confirm here in a bit when I get a few min.
Looks like audit log is correct from what I'm looking over.
