Hi,

whenever I send a Teams invitation to an external person, the invitation's sender address ((ie. my address)  is displayed NOT in the SMTP format.

It looks somethings like:

/o=ExchangeLabs/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (xxxxxxxxxxxx)/cn=Recipients/cn=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-pete.mandel

(xxx masking actual labels)

However, invitations only show this sender address format in Outlook, in other EMail clients and in ios the email address is displayed in the SMTP format.

What can be done? Thank you and regards

needless to say, I haven't had any issues with sending mails or invitations outside of Teams.

one issue that seems to have an impact on this:
my office 365 user name is different from my main email address.

so user name: pm@domain.com

main email: pete.mandel@domain.com

Is there something we have to configure in our useraccounts?

@petemandeDid you have any luck with this?  I'm having the same issue.  The invites look fine as long as the recipient is NOT using outlook on the desktop.  A bit surprising as I would have expected things to work better with outlook.

@Glenn Chubak well yes, but purely by chance and not by any intervention on my part.
As I got no replies here I used another tool for online meetings.
Last week I tried again to send invitation from Teams and lo and behold, everything now works as expected.
Sorry, but I can't help you as I don't know the reason why this is working now.
