our skype environment is hybrid with 0365. We have users with a E5 license and have started uses Teams more and more. I noticed that they don't have the audio conference dial in number. When I try to enable audio conferencing in the port it fails with "We weren't able to enable the conferencing bridge."

The users that have been migrated from skype onprem to skype o365 I don't have the issue enabling conference bridge. Is it possible to use the teams conference bridge without moving the user to skype o365?

@Jason Benway Unfortunately your on prem dial-in conferencing solution won't work with Skype Online or Teams.  You'll need to purchase audio conferencing licenses or buckets of minutes from Microsoft and use their service.

I'm not trying to use our onprem conferencing. 

We E5 licenses it includes Microsoft audio conference with teams.

 

The issue I'm stuck at is that I can only enable audio conference in teams if the user is using skype o365. it seems like skype o365 is still tied with teams when it comes to voice features.

@Jason Benway  Ah ok, I understand.

 

I thought they fixed that.  I had opened a case with Premier a few months back for the same issue and it was supposed to have been fixed by April 1.  When I tried to enable audio conferencing on an on prem homed account I was getting an error.  I can confirm it's now working for me.  

 

After you've chosen a service number, assigned a license to a user and tried enabling audio conferencing, are you also getting an error?  Even though you're using Teams, do you still have a Skype license assigned to that user?

Just tried again with an user that has a E5 license. is currently homed with skype onprem (not enterprise voice)

When I try to enable the audio conference and save I still get the "We weren't able to enable the conferencing bridge."

I can move him to skype o365, but then it send updates to all his meetings. I just want him to have a audio conference bridge for his new Teams meetings...

@Jason Benway I would open a support case in your admin portal, they should be able to fix that for you.

Thanks I opened a ticket today and we fixed it with the one user I was focused on. I'll try more later.

 

The command I ran was 

  • Get-MsolUser -UserPrincipalName <user UPN> | Redo-MsolProvisionUser

Hi David,

My customer is experiencing this same issue and directed me to this page - seems with newish users there is no problem but for older users they still cannot enable the conferencing bridge. Only workaround we've found is to turning off then back on the SfB Online Licence and also run the command (Get-MsolUser.....) as per above. We don't want to do this for the 5000 older accounts one-by-one. Is there a bug or bug ID we can check on? Have a premier support case logged however this thread looked like it had some possible solutions. Thanks
