Hi all community members,

 

As we are doing different pilot group for our MS teams roll-out to whole organization currently we came across one issue that suddenly one of a Teams Channel Disappear from last two days we have around 18 users member of that Teams which had the default general channel and the other one "Pilot deployment" which is disapeard we have only two owners both didn't touch that part, also we checked Teams > Managed > Channels Under Active and deleted there is only general under active but nothing else.

 

though it had a planner tab which we created in that channel in the online planner we could see both the general channel planner and the Pilot deployment channel planner.

 

has anyone else came across same issue or concern.

Strange! And all 18 users cant see the channel anymore?

Check the audit log in the security and compliance center. There is a trigger for “deleted channel” and see if there is anything there!

we have checked all those part nothing found,

 

out of those 18 users only 2 were able to see the disappeard channel on their web browsers so using the web version as we have created a form survay to check with all the users.

 

when the owner created a test channel the channel which were missing from all others got disappeards from those two users web version as well and the new test channel created everyone can see it.

Try log out of teams app client and back in! Also try another browser or clear cache! It seems strange though affecting that many users! How about the mobile client?
If you still see inconsistencies For that many users I would create a ticket with Microsoft

You are totally right we should go on creating ticket, the reason i posted here to get some idea or view if others had came across the same if not we will go to Microsoft route, 

 

since all these 18 users are technical and they are part of our Teams Roll-out project so we have done all the possible solutions from trying in to brand new computer, new Teams, new browser etc.

You sure someone didn’t rename the test channel? Check the document library on the attached SharePoint site. Is the test channel name there?

I had this issue brought to my attention as well.  The Team Owner assured me they didn't delete the channel or rename it - it simply disappeared from the Channel list.  I confirmed that it does not show in the Deleted Channels list.  Also, I looked at the SharePoint site - and the folder does exist.  The team is comprised of 5 people (so it's easy to determine who may have deleted anything) and a total of 8 channels (so it's not as though it fell off from too many).  Also - we are only piloting Teams to this point - not a full, enterprise-wide rollout yet.  Fingers crossed this isn't a recurring issue.

 

I'm curious to know how many others are experiencing this problem


 


 

Yes this is something for sure i can say no one deleted it, as today one of the user was able to see using the web version it appeared to him in web version but nothing on desktop client of MS teams.

You are right we are also doing the Pilot before going to company wide roll-out though we are on the second pilot we have learnt alot in the first pilot and we may continue doing 2-3 more pilots with different departments.

And a log out / in wont relsolve the issue??

Thanks for your reply Steven that would be correct for Dan, but the case maybe different on our end since we have already open a ticket for this with Microsoft to see what will be the answer.

Just as a new update there were 3 people inlcuding me, we were able to see the channel which was disappeard for a while one person was able to see in web only, i was able to see on my Iphone, and another person was able to see on the desktop client and so does on the web

I have been experiencing this issue this morning. I have been trying to add new channels to my teams and they immediately disappear. It does not matter if I do it through the desktop app or the browser. 

I'm having the exact same problem. 

Any new updates from your side on this and one question when you add more channels have your checked the followings?

The active and archives channels in settings?
Does the new channel creates libraries? You can checked it from online SharePoint site content section!

Can you post a little more what exactly happens to your case?

Have you created new channels?
Have you checked the web, desktop, mobile version?
But looking to the link posted your issue is more of not able to create channels but in our case can create as many channels as we want and it would show only one channel which I mentioned all the information above is disappeared!
I believe this was a knows error and should have been fixed!

Thanks for sharing once agian but the case here is totally different with us our Team’s channel is nor new not created recently we have had usage of it and I am sure no one deleted it.

The update provided may Suite for the above two other members who had issue while creating new channels and could not seen and even one of the members even not been able to create channels!

There was a channel that was renamed some time back. Was working 100% till a new user could not see the channel.


Her name was also not under the SharePoint site.
Gave her Owner access to check if she can see the channel and now I also can't see the channel.

 

The folder does exist in SharePoint

Nothing under deleted items

issue changed a bit. I can now see the channel again but the new user still cant...

My suggestion is creating a ticket to Microsoft! I've reached out to the Teams team also and I'll post back any info i get!

Sure @adam deltinger i guess our Global Admin has been in talk with Microsoft if we get any updates will post it here, or if you guys find any updates or services alerts please keep us posted and update.

I'm running into a similar issue but the channel has disappeared in Flow. I'm building a flow using the 'Post a message (Preview)' step and in one account all of the channels of my team are appearing, if I switch accounts one of the channels is missing from the drop down option list for that flow step.

Both accounts are owners in the Team. Any ideas?  Happy to try and provide more info. 

 

Edit: Both accounts can see the SharePoint folder for the channel
