Hi,
We seem to have this weird issue where status is not being displayed for any users on Microsoft Teams. It just says status is "Unknown" with a white circle. trying to change the status has no effect and this seems to be happening for all users using Microsoft Teams in our tenant.
We tried switching between Developer build and back. Also, tried a fresh install but still the same issue.
Is anybody else having this issue?

Hi, I'm not sure if this should be part of a new thread but I'm seeing similar UI behavior whenever I attempt to switch to another tenant in which I'm a guest user.
In both the browsers and desktop versions it shows partially updated information for the list of ongoing chat sessions with Unknown user for all participants in the other tenants.
It also fails to refresh the list of teams I'm part of.
I tried to clear caches, sign out, sign in, use a new browser from which I've never connected to teams in the past.
Digging a bit deeper into the web version network traffic I see that some services calls seem to now be returning unauthorized access errors.
We've verified that the guest access are ok in the other tenant.
I successfully also have accessed all resources in the associated teams site however (SharePoint, planner,etc.)
As we are on boarding a lot of guest users for our clients it is important to ensure that they have access to teams so we'll open a ticket but if anyone has any additional troubleshooting suggestions don't hesitate.

I get the same issue as you and it only started today when I was added as a guest to another tenant. I had to sign out and sign back in again to fix the issue on my tenant.

Thank you for opening the ticket @Shanuj Patel - This is a known bug and something we are currently working on. We do not have an ETA yet, however, thank you for opening the ticket - you should be notified of updates via that ticket.

I have the samme issue. I just got a white ring with a questionmark inside it. It does not update to "in a meeting" if I have a event in my calendar. Guess it's a general problem, or is there anything I can do to fix it? Both Exchange and Teams are in the cloud, so, they're on the same plattform.

I'm having this similar issue for my whole team. Myself and one other 'owner' of our teams are showing permanently as "away' and everyone else is Offline. We can all chat etc. just fine, but it's a shot in the dark that anyone is online/available.
We have restarted, tried checking for updates, signing out and back in. Nothing makes a difference.

Looks like our Admin would have to submit this, but it looks like there has been resurgence of this issue since last Jan when it was suggested as 'being worked on'.
Any update on the new issues that a lot of people seem to be having with Status?
