Hi!
My problem is that I tried Microsoft Teams with a Free tier (Sign up for free) several month ago when Microsoft released the Free option - in order to try out it's features, etc. So I created an organisation for testing and everything worked well. I used a personal Microsoft account (ending in @live.com ) to sign up for free in Microsoft Teams and to create the organisation.
Yesterday I have decided that is enough testing and I deleted the organisation in order to create a new one. However after that I deleted it, I just could not create a new one (Sign up for free did not work anymore).
The problem: I go on the https://products.office.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/group-chat-software page, than I chose the "Sign up for free" button, than I give my personal Microsoft Account (just like I did several month ago), than I give my password, and than after a few minutes waiting I get this message:
- I have tried it on several devices (Windows, iOS, Android), several browsers, several internet connections, so basicly everything on my side, but always the same message.
- I've got the confirmation in email, that I left the organisation, so it was successful, and I am not part of any organisation any more.
- I do not have any Microsoft 365 subscription, business, or any other subscrition (and I don't need one in order to use the "sing up for free" option - like I did it back then).
- Another interesting fact that all webpages and services related to Microsoft Teams is way too slow (not just on my computer, but on my phone and tablet as well), compared to other Microsft product pages. Signing in on the MS Teams page into my personal account takes several minutes while doing it on any other page is instant.
So it looks that something is broke in my account on MS side, and it prevents me from using the service. I tried everything, and even the customer service after several hours of phone calling here in Easter Europe could not help me.
And since I could not find any other option to contact MS regarding Teams, this community is my last resort. I hope, that somebody could help me regarding this issue.

I have the same thing. Would like to keep a single MS account and not create an additional one. Hope there is someone out there who can advise on how to get the existing MS account fixed for Free Teams.
Had a further look and the issue must be related to the fact that somehow I do not have an admin user on the Azure AD any more, which is likely caused by having no 'organisation' available anymore of which admin user can be present.
