I have noticed that when you use the send by email button (NEWS) in SharePoint online, to a TEAMS channel, the message that is recieved in teams contains this:

//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd

Is there anyway to exclude that?

Na, it's most likley a bug with the formatting of those messages, or Teams can't read the way it's doing properly, so Microsoft would have to fix this, nothing you can do from a user perspective unless you want to get super fancy with some kind of Exchange content rules that intercept the message and strips it somehow :p.
