At one time last year I had no problem installing & running the Microsoft Teams desktop app on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop. After a period of time the program would no longer run. So I tried to uninstall & reinstall but nothing works. The installer runs but then stops without launching the program. I see a desktop shortcut which, when clicked on, does literally nothing. I tried pasting the shortcut target (C:\Users\mwahle\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe --processStart "Teams.exe") in the command window, but all that happens is a brief flash of a dialog and that's it. I looked in the SquirrelSetup.log file and see this message:
2018-04-04 09:50:23> Program: Starting Squirrel Updater: --processStart Teams.exe
2018-04-04 09:50:23> Program: Want to launch 'C:\Users\mwahle\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe'
2018-04-04 09:50:23> Program: File C:\Users\mwahle\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe doesn't exist in current release
2018-04-04 09:50:23> Unhandled exception: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.

at Squirrel.Update.Program.main(String args)
I checked the "current" folder and while there are many files, the only executable present is Squirrel.exe. There is no file named "Teams.exe".

I had already tried that approach previously, even shutting down & rebooting between deleting that folder and reinstalling, but it did not work. I tried it again after reading your reply, just in case something went wrong the first time I did it, but still nothing. I am really curious as to why I do not see a Teams.exe file in the "current" folder as that is what it appears is needed...

I've got the same or a similar problem. the Teams app was running, and now I get an error message when I try and run the executable. I get a Win10 error dialog stating 'This app can't run on your PC'.
The issue extends to the browser version as well. It starts loading, then I get a 'D'oh something went wrong error' flashed up briefly, and then it throws me back to the dialog asking me to select an account. I pick the relevant account and the cycle repeats.
Uninstalling Teams I get the Windows error message stating 'This app can't run on this PC'.

Delete the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams
Then download the latest version and try installing again from https://teams.microsoft.com/download

I am having a similar issue. I have never used Teams. When I attempted to install it places the icon on the desktop. I attempt to launch it and it never opens. The icon on the desktop changes to a piece of paper. Nothing will ever open. I have removed the folder mention and downloaded it again but same result. Please help.
