When I add a page with a SharePoint Event web part to Teams, I can't add a new event because the Save button is missing. Has anyone else experience this?

Can you screenshot? The events get added after you exit the page edit mode and should have a +Add event link?

Thanks, I was expecting there to be a Save button like we get when we edit a page in SPO.

I'll need buy you a beverage if we ever meet :)

Ok, I jumped the gun, when i add a new event from the page in Teams, I then go to another tab, and come back to my calendar page, the new event was not saved. What am i doing wrong?

I have reported this problem internally to Microsoft in the past, but it seems is still there
I mean it's technically working properly, because if your inputting list data you want to do that in normal page not edit page. Webpart settings are what you edit via edit mode. Since the event list pulls from list data, hence not being in edit mode to save :p

but we are clicking on an Add Item link, which should allow us to add a new item to list. I'm not trying to edit the page itself, however, it provides this ability in teams through the header editing tools

oh , i missed that you edited the post.... that's why I was confused here lol.... let me look over that :p
When you added the web part to the page, did you edit the web part and assign it to an events list, if you don't have one you'll need to create it so it is populated.
Yo will not get this working properly....just confirmed that this is reported to Microosft and they still have to figure out how to improve integration scenarios with SP such as this one

@Dean Gross - I'm not sure how you're getting into the state of being able to create an event from a page embedded in teams. We typically hide the entry points for +Add within Teams ( e.g. when I tried to repro this just now on a test tenant, I couldn't). I can view & interact with events, but not add them.

Where did you click a +Add to get into the state your screenshot shows? In teams we hide the command bar (where the save button is located)...so that will be a problem.

Thanks

Oh wow, this whole time I completely missed the word "Teams" in your messages Dean.... lol... I need more coffee.... I was wondering why your "Search box" space was missing up top there where the Save button would be on the right side form. It all makes sense now.

I'm going to guess it was a URL copy and website tab from the +Add event page? :p

@John SandersI added a new page in SPO, then added the Events web part, then added some events. I went to Teams, added a tab, choose SharePoint and then I have a page like this with an Add Event link.
BTW, i have spent entirely too long trying to show my customer how they add a Calendar to Teams. This should be a simple thing and it is a complete nightmare. I know that this has a lot of votes on uservoice, what is TAKING SO LONG? Assign some more resources, other updates are trivial in value when compared to this.

FYI, i did some more testing and discovered that this only occurs in the browser, the desktop app is not showing the Add Event link

Don't use a modern Page for calendar, you can use the event list (from site contents)and the default calendar view, and add it as a website tab in Teams. Works great. if you add &dlg=1 to the end of the website url tab in Teams it'll Trim off all the noise from the classic page.

That should at least give you something to work with for now.
Thanks, but when I add https://clienttenant.sharepoint.com/teams/DGTest5/Events/calendar.aspx&dlg=1 to my Team as a website tab, it never renders. Does not mater if i have the &dlg=1 or not, same result
You must be using web client.... only works in Desktop app. Forgot about that part. My org's have been all Desktop Client so it worked for us.
Thats correct, I'm on my customers tenant and its easier for me to use the browser because accounts switching in the Desktop client still sucks.
I got it to work in the client, but not with the &dlg=1 that failed,
I cannot believe how much time i have wasted on this simple thing
Try ?dlg=1 or &dgl=1 one of those trims it down to just the calendar.

Thanks, it turned out to be ?isdlg=1

Dang that’s it! Lol. I’ve posted it so many times I should have remembered
